Bluebells in Bloom in Killenthomas wood.
Cover photo taken by Philomena Brady
After a very strange year, the arrival of the bluebells in bloom coincided with a partial lifting of restrictions so some of our members took the opportunity to visit Kilinthomas Wood just outside Rathangan. A haven of trails meadering through the wood with the heavenly scent of Bluebells and Garlic flowers – a wonderful way to enjoy a summers evening.
The blooming of the Bluebells is an indication of Summer’s arrival – a wonderful time to take out the camera.
The wild garlic flowers have a strong scent but seem to blossom beside the bluebells.
The ferns and other foliage in the wood can always catch the eye of photographers.
The changing light can be a little tricky but patience and a little help from members helps.
The club has continued to meet via Zoom during Covid lockdown but to physically meet (socially distanced of course) was a tonic. Every outing proves to be a great social event along with sharing hints & tips to help us improve our photography techniques.
