Monthly Competitions

Every month we hold a competition based on a pre set theme, for members. It is a great way of encouraging members to take out their cameras and take photos to suit the theme.

At the end of the Year all Winning (first and second place shots and judges choice) go forward for a chance to win the Tullamore Camera Club Photo of the Year, Tullamore Camera Club Photographer of the Year Award and The Tullamore Camera Club Shield.

Monthly Photo Competition Rules 2025

-Photos must be submitted by the Sunday before the Club’s monthly meeting, which is held on the final Thursday of each month. The deadline for receipt of photos (JPGs) is 6PM and any photos submitted after that time may not be printed and may not be considered for the voting round.

–Photo must be taken in 2024 / 2025

-Photos must not contain personal logos or watermarks as we try to keep the photos anonymous for voting purposes

-Photo must suit the chosen theme for that month as interpreted by the photographer

– Only photos submitted by fully paid up members will be eligible for the competition

We would appreciate if members could add the shooting dates and locations when submitting photos. If you could also rename submitted photos to include your name and month of competition. If you need any help with this please reach out to the committee.

If photos submitted are deemed not in line with the above they will be subject disqualification.

We will have a 1st & 2nd place as voted by the members on the night and when possible will also have a judges choice.

All winning photos will go forward for the TCC Photo of the Year 2025

Photographer of the Year and Shield Competition 2025

Our Photographer of the Year and Shield competition winners 2025 will be chosen based on a points system, every member that enters the monthly competition will receive at least 1 point for their entry in that months comp, members may submit a max of 2 photos per entry each month based on the chosen theme!

For 2025 points will be awarded as follows:

•Entry: 1 point ( entry = max 2 photos)

•1st place: 5 points

•2nd place: 3 points

•Judges Choice 5 points

In the event of a tie for 1st place then a second vote will take place with each member given 1 vote to select their favourite. These photos will then result in 1st & 2nd place for that month.

In the event of a tie for 2nd place then each photo will get the 3 points allocated for 2nd place

The photos properly submitted for inclusion will be printed and mounted by a member of the Committee and will go on display on the night of the meeting where members in attendance will be able to vote for their favourite two shots of the selection. We would encourage all members to attend these Club night meetings and see the wonderful photos printed out in their full glory – they can appear very different to your phone or computer’s screen!

** Note: Members who submit photos to the club, these photos may be used across all our social media platforms- facebook, instagram and website. If there are people in your shots please ensure you have consent to share the shots across social media**
